Our Projects
Involve the community in protection
The No Wildlife Crime Foundation donated eight collars to track wild dogs. This way we know exactly where they are and what they are doing - vital information to learn more about them and be able to protect them.

Major Programs and Initiatives
- Anti-Poaching: PDC conducts regular anti-poaching patrols and works with local communities to combat illegal activities that threaten wild dogs.
- Research and Monitoring: The organization monitors several packs of wild dogs daily in Hwange National Park and other areas, conducting research to better understand their behavior, ecology and health.
- Education and Outreach: PDC engages local communities and schools through educational programs, such as the Iganyana Children's Bush Camp, to create awareness about the importance of conservation and wild dog conservation (Safari Company).
- Community engagement: By establishing feeding programs and supporting local economic activities, PDC helps communities coexist with wild dogs in a sustainable way.
- Habitat protection: PDC is committed to preserving and protecting natural habitats so that wild dogs have adequate space to thrive.
Impact and Successes: Through their integrated approach, Painted Dog Conservation has made significant progress in protecting African wild dogs and promoting coexistence with local communities. Their work has contributed not only to reducing poaching and restoring wild dog populations, but also to raising environmental and conservation awareness among local people (Painted Dog Conservation) (Painted Dog Conservation).
